Episode 12-999 No’s

Listener Andy suggested an episode on marketing and clients a while back. I thought it was a great idea, even though I’m no marketing guru. In this episode, I go over the basics of getting out there and making a name for yourself. If you’d like to share some marketing strategies, email them to me at scott@sunsetwestpi.com and I’ll go over them in a future episode. I might even have you on to talk about it.

And if you haven’t seen it yet, check out the website at http://www.curbsideinvestigator.com where you can find links to the frappr map, a link to podcast pickle where this podcast is listed along with many many others, and some other great links. Enjoy everyone!

    Hi,

Thanks for the marketing tips! I was actually having a talk with other Pis and business people a few days ago about the costs of mail marketing compared with their payoffs. You’re right, it is expensive and usually dosn’t have a high conversion rate. I think people keep doing it, as every now and again you land a really good regular client who gives you alot of work.

I’m going to go the way of yellowpages ads as my service is tracing people and background checks which is much more general.

I’m looking about now for some local business associations to join. That was a good tip. Makes sense.

    Thanks,
    Andy
