Episode 12-999 No’s

Thank you for visiting the website. Don't forget to leave comments or visit the forum!

Listener Andy suggested an episode on marketing and clients a while back. I thought it was a great idea, even though I’m no marketing guru. In this episode, I go over the basics of getting out there and making a name for yourself. If you’d like to share some marketing strategies, email them to me at scott@sunsetwestpi.com and I’ll go over them in a future episode. I might even have you on to talk about it.

And if you haven’t seen it yet, check out the website at http://www.curbsideinvestigator.com where you can find links to the frappr map, a link to podcast pickle where this podcast is listed along with many many others, and some other great links. Enjoy everyone!

Does anybody actually listen to the end of the podcast? The complete episode 11 is here.

It’s come to my attention that the last podcast on fees (which was actually pretty important in my opinion) was incomplete. Apparently the upload crashed halfway through because the actually podcast is about 16 minutes long. I’ve fixed the problem, so if you only listened to 8 minutes, get on back there and listen to the other half!

Thanks everyone for bringing it to my attention. Here it is again so your podcatcher will pick it up. It’s still #11, just the complete one.

A fee…..by any other name; it’s still a lot of money for a client. Episode 11 is here.

“That’s a lot of money” is a comment I hear a lot from private clients. Some investigators might argue that I need to find better clients, but I think it’s important to understand why we charge what we charge and be able to explain that to our clients when asked.

Folks, this is only my take on this subject. I’m sure there’s lot’s of other opinions and I’d love to hear them. Send me an email and tell me what you think. If I hear something that’s way off from my thoughts, we’ll talk about it in an upcoming episode.

Listen to episode #11 below or download it into your portable media device (not sure how, but are curious? Let me know and I’ll hook you up)

Episode 10: Investigative Specialties-What’s hot/What’s not

I found a list of investigative specialties that broke down the specific genres by the number of firms that reported themselves specializing in that particular specialty (have I said specialty to many times in a row yet?). It was a small, self reporting survey, and is by no means definitive, but I thought it was interesting and points to some possible marketing opportunities.

Check it out or download it and don’t forget to put yourself on the frappr map!
