Investigators have been getting a bad rap for a while now and I thought it would be helpful to explain what some of the bad apples have done, and what the rest of us have done to protect ourselves and the public from them.

In the UK the situation’s slightly different. Becuase of the stories largly from the USA of PIs misusing information UK PIs were never really trusted to access anything the public couldn’t access. Hopfully this will start to change as PI licensing is due to start 06/07 in the UK for the first time ever.
UK PIs require the client to give a reason as to why they want an investigation, and depending on the reason provided will usually dictate whether I decide to contcat the subject first to see if they want their address passed onto the client.

Love the show. I am a P.I. in Utah and have been wondering what California P.I.’s had access to. In Utah we still have access to DL photos and Motor Vehicle street addresses. I hope we will use this information wisely!
