Special Episode-Curbside Investigator interviewed by The American PI

Paul Jaeb of American Investigator Podcast! interviewed me about the state of investigations here in Southern California.  It was a lot of fun to sit down with a fellow investigator and podcaster and talk shop.  Paul was nice enough to allow me to excerpt my interview here, so let’s all be nice enough to subscribe to his podcast as well.

A recent forum post asked the question : How do you handle surveillance in hostile neighborhoods? I thought it was an important enough topic to discuss on the podcast as well as in the forum. Safety is paramount in this business and there’s a few tips to remember if you want to stay safe and successful.

Episode #103 – Questions from Listeners

Listener Neil had some questions as a newly licensed PI.  After talking with Neil, I realized that his questions were probably shared by many new PI’s and definitely worth talking about.  We discussed liability, databases, and taking the conservative approach in order to stay out of trouble.  It’s not for everyone but it’s worked for me.  I’d love to hear your comments on the topic!

In this episode, Scott explores generalization as opposed to specialization.  Consider his long standing position on being specialized, it’s a tough proposition to endorse.  Check it out.

There’s also some discussion of Spoofcard.  It’s a great tool but use it wisely and always be aware of your local laws.
